The work organization plan boosts Spain and Portugal's bids for the 2030 World Cup

Antonio Laranjo has been designated Infrastructure Coordinator and will oversee the Iberian technical project beginning in January 2022.

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), led by its presidents, Luis Rubiales and Fernando Gomes, are making progress in their joint campaign to host the 2030 World Cup. Antonio Laranjo, one of the persons organizing the candidacy, has already been published as of this Friday, December 10, 2021. In January 2022, he will assume the position of President of Infrastructures in the FPF, managing the technical initiatives in the union of the two countries that intend to host the upcoming World Cup in 2030. After accepting this new assignment, Antonio Laranjo stated that he is "extremely proud and pleased," and that it is "an honor to manage a team of exceptional experts."

The engineer was greeted by Fernando Gomes, head of the Portuguese Football Federation, who said that the institution was "greatly delighted" to have him on board. And he hasn't held back from praising his resume: "We are aware of his contributions to both Euro 2004 and the later building of the City of Football or the House of Athletes. His abilities both personally and professionally are a great value to the FPF ".

The Royal Spanish Football Federation's president, Luis Rubiales, wished to express his happiness and pleasure at this decision by making reference to the fact that "at the RFEF, we are delighted to be able to count on Antonio Laranjo to oversee the technical aspect of the application. His prior expertise will be essential for us to offer the strongest joint candidacy we can, especially in reference to EURO 2004 which was hosted in Portugal. This is why we welcome Antonio, certain that we will cooperate to complete this crucial project successfully on behalf of the two federations and our respective nations "
