Córdoba breaks the attendance record for a women's national team match in Spain

just any match or date for our Spanish women's football team. The world champions have stirred excitement since their arrival in Córdoba. Day by day, the internationals have felt the support and affection from the people of Andalusia and the city. During the match, they enjoyed the brilliant play of the Spanish team on the field and celebrated each of the five goals that led to victory for the Spanish national team.

In the pre-match, the national coach, Montse Tomé, and Mariona Caldentey encouraged the Cordovan fans to come to the Nuevo Arcángel Municipal Stadium to provide all their support to help secure the three points against Switzerland and, consequently, a clean sweep of victories in this phase of the UEFA Women's Nations League. The audience rose to the occasion for the world champions and supported them enthusiastically from the first to the last minute of the match. With a spectacular wave and chants of 'world champions,' they were also key figures in a night to remember. After the match, all the internationals circled the field to express their gratitude for the support they received from the stands.

The 14,194 people who filled the stands at Nuevo Arcángel set a new attendance record for a women's national team match in Spain, surpassing the 11,209 spectators who attended the El Sadar Stadium in Pamplona on October 11, 2022, in a match where Spain triumphed 2-0 against the United States.

More proof that Spanish society continues to rally behind the Spanish National Team, the reigning world champion from the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
