Arrasate: "I am proud of the team and very proud of the fans"

The CA Osasuna manager believes that the team "has grown a lot" this season, and that the final in Seville should give "a lot of strength to try again".

Jagoba Arrasate appeared in the press room after a few moments of emotion in which, on the pitch, he had been unable to hold back the tears. "In the end you break down, and I broke down when I saw the fans; it was a shame not to offer them the Copa they deserved", he said, before saying he was "proud of the team and extremely proud of the fans".

Arrasate pointed out that, despite the early goal that his team had conceded, he had seen the team still very much intact, even though they were behind on the scoreboard and also in the tie. "In the 70th minute I could see that we could win the game, to be honest," he said of the moment when they conceded the 2-1 goal. That was, according to the manager, when the match was really "lost". "The second was much more painful than the first," he acknowledged.

The Copa final puts a good end to a season in which the team and the club, according to Jagoba Arrasate, have "grown a lot". "The players have seen that we can compete against Real Madrid and that gives us a lot of strength to try again," he told the journalists gathered in the press room of the Estadio de La Cartuja.
