Emotional tribute to the European runners-up in the Copa de la Reina final

Luis Rubiales received the internationals and the rest of the Spanish delegation at half-time.

After winning the European U17 Women's Championship runners-up spot, the team coached by Kenio Gonzalo was honored at Butarque before the start of the final of the Copa de SM la Reina. The internationals, coaching staff proudly took to the field with the silver medal around their necks and received a warm welcome from the stands. The team captains, Vicky López and Cristina Librán, were in charge of carrying the trophy and later posed with it for a group photo that will be remembered forever.

During half-time of the final of the Copa de la Reina - Iberdrola, the internationals were also received in the box by the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, Luis Rubiales, who dedicated some nice words to them: "Seeing how you shed those tears we were sad but at the same time happy. We knew you were going to do everything possible and you came very close. When it seemed impossible and nobody believed, those of us who really know you knew that you do not give up so easily. These tears of sadness that you have shed will soon be tears of happiness, because you are going to win many titles with your clubs and with the national team. You all are the best.”

The president of the Consejo Superior de Deportes, José Manuel Franco, also did not want to miss the opportunity to congratulate the national U-17 women's team. "Women's football is on the rise thanks to you. Day by day you set a magnificent example. Spanish sport and Spain is proud of what you have done and, above all, of what you have left to do," he said.
