Joselu: "Happiness is at its peak"

The goal scorer who secured Spain's spot in the UEFA Nations League final praised his personal achievement and that of the national team during a press conference: "The credit goes to everyone"

"When Jordi crossed the ball, I tried to anticipate the near post knowing that there was an Italian player lagging behind, so when Rodrigo scored, I knew perfectly well that he wasn't offside." With the same clarity he demonstrated on the field to score the crucial goal, José Luis Mato Joselu explained all the details of the key play during the press conference and described the great moment the national team is experiencing on the verge of winning the UEFA Nations League.

In a playful manner, the forward revealed, "My Instagram has been blocked, and I receive messages from unknown numbers that I don't even have saved, but it's normal. Happiness is at its peak because of everything this means."

With three goals in just three matches for Spain, Joselu doesn't lose sight of the importance his teammates have had throughout this journey: "Family is everything, and when good things happen, many people come together, but family is always there, and they are here now. Being able to enjoy this with them is incredible because I'm having a great time like a child."

Joselu made his debut with the national team last March, becoming one of the oldest players in history to do so, and he emphasizes, "I enjoy being here because I'm surrounded by the best of the best. There's no need for labels because we are all important, and the credit for reaching the final goes to everyone."

His longstanding relationship with Álvaro Morata, his impression of the first training sessions with Rodrigo Hernández, and the atmosphere of camaraderie and enthusiasm within the team were among the other topics addressed in his responses to the journalists: "First, we're going to beat Croatia, which is the most important thing," he concluded as a wish.
