Pedro Rocha highlights the success of Spanish coaches and points out that the key is "setting the standards in training"

The president of the RFEF's Management Committee spoke at the X Ramón Cobo Awards ceremony, organised by the CTE.

The president of the RFEF Management Committee, Pedro Rocha, highlighted the success of Spanish coaches in Europe and thanked the National Coaching School and the regional federations for their work in training. He did so during the Ramón Cobo awards ceremony, held this afternoon at the Ciudad del Fútbol; these awards, organised by the Technical Coaches Committee, are now in their tenth year.

Pedro Rocha described the training given at the National Coaching School and that organised by the regional federations as "a benchmark" to use as an example. Pedro Rocha commented that the “high standards in training" are one of the keys that explain "the success of Spanish coaches in Europe, and the fact that they are among the most sought-after in the world".

The president of the RFEF management team also stressed that, in the field of coaching, progress is also being made in terms of equality. "There are more and more professional female coaches, and they are becoming more and more highly qualified; and we are going to continue to promote people´s training, regardless of  their gender", he emphasised.

Rocha, who presided over the Ramón Cobo awards ceremony, highlighted the profile of the award winners, "recognised as an example for their professional careers, but also for their values" and for their sporting spirit. As Rocha pointed out, the award-winning coaches are an example of "how through sport we can generate a lifestyle".
