Pedro Rocha participates in the F League Assembly

The president of the RFEF's Management Committee congratulates the clubs for the work, carried out together with the Federation, which has made it possible for Spain to become World Cup champions.

The president of the RFEF's Management Committee, Pedro Rocha, took part this Tuesday in the Liga F Assembly, where he was received by its president, Beatriz Álvarez. Rocha wanted to extend his hand to recognise all the joint work and to all the clubs present, and also congratulated them for the work that, together with the Federation, they have done to make it possible for the Spanish National Team to win the Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

"Our teams are among the best in the world and we must continue to work towards this goal; and I am convinced that, with the joint work of all the different levels of Spanish football, we will continue on the right path," said Rocha.

The president of the F League, Beatriz Álvarez, considered Pedro Rocha's presence at the Assembly "very important for the clubs": "It shows the change towards more institutional peace and a cordial relationships, in which we have to work together in favour of Spanish women's football," she said. Among the tasks to be tackled jointly, Álvarez highlighted the negotiation of the coordination agreement, which has to be "a realistic agreement that benefits the professional women's football league".

Beatriz Álvarez thanked Rocha for his presence and willingness, which was evident in some of the reflections he shared with the assembly members on equality, "one of the main challenges facing Spanish football", as he said, and "a priority" for the RFEF.

Rocha highlighted the recent creation of an Equality Directorate within the RFEF, which will develop the federation's policies in this area, and expressed his firm intention to move towards "the maximum professionalisation of women’s football". "We must work on training, structures, sponsorship, salaries, visibility and social awareness; and this challenging target  will only be possible to achieve if we approach it with understanding and unity," Rocha summarised.
