Spain's new kit for Euro 2024

The shirt designed by Adidas for Europe’s massive showpiece football event reinvents the traditional combination of colours in the first kit and introduces a new one in the away shirt.

The kit sponsor of the Royal Spanish Football Federation and the Spanish National Team, Adidas, has today presented a new range of daring kits that seven of the best countries across the continent, including Spain, will wear at the upcoming European Championships. The designs for the Spanish national team and those of Belgium, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Scotland and Wales aim to connect with a new generation of players and fans, says Adidas.

All the kits have two things in common: they reinvent traditional elements, drawing inspiration from each country's cultural identity; and they incorporate Adidas fabric technologies (such as HEAT.RDY and AEROREADY) that keep players comfortable under pressure. In terms of aesthetics, the brand wanted to inspire a sense of pride and belonging, combining traditional elements with a modern style to create something truly new, while always staying respectful of and loyal to the football heritage of each country.

You can buy your shirt at the official rfef shop and on the adidas website.

Spain's home kit could not be anything but red; but yellow trim can now be found at the bottom of the shirt at the sides and in the other elements on the shirt (badge, adidas logo and the classic three stripes that identify this brand), giving it it´s own strength and personality. It also incorporates a nod to the typical nature of our country and to the "national flower", with the embroidery of a carnation on the back of the collar. This is a symbol that, according to Adidas, aims to unite fans and players through a symbol that encompasses success and love. The shapes of the carnation blend with the shapes of the seas surrounding our peninsula, forming wavy motifs that dot the base of the shirt. The result is a classic-looking kit with modern themes running through it.

As for the away kit, an unconventional colour scheme has been chosen for the base and side panels, with turquoise and aquamarine tones mixed with red, resulting in an aesthetic that, according to Adidas, represents a bustling Spanish beach in the middle of summer. It's all in line with the idea of dynamic colours and shapes fusing together to express the excitement and hope that players and fans share before and during a major tournament.

Technologies incorporated

Each shirt includes HEAT.RDY technology, optimised to keep players comfortable, or AEROREADY technology, materials that absorb or disperse sweat and keep players dry. Lighter ridges and additional mesh panels have also been added, which help improve airflow and comfort, so players can focus on the game.

Sam Handy, Vice President of Product and Design at Adidas, said: "The national shirt is the visual symbol that unites a nation as its team seeks to provide fans with moments they will remember for a lifetime. In this sense, the jersey represents much more than sport: it represents unity, it represents a passion that unites us, and it represents an identity that is celebrated at its best during an international tournament. "We bring together this emotion and energy with a nod to the intrinsic DNA of each countries’ federations, topped off with bold new looks that fans can proudly wear in the stands and on the streets this summer," he added.

The adidas Euros kit collection will be available on adidas.com, shop.rfef.es and in selected shops from 14 March 2024.
