The national team light up European Championships across old continent

Not only are the national team emerging triumphant from their matches at this European Championships, but they are also generating massive European television audiences. 69.8 million viewers on the Old Continent enjoyed Spain's games in these first three matches, a figure that shows just how popular the Spain team is.

The match against Italy, the second match of the group stage (1-0), was the most watched with 41.1 million viewers. Germany was the country that reached the highest number of viewers, 13 million, with the free-to-air broadcast of the match on ZDF, surpassing even the audience achieved in Spain (more than 8 million viewers).

Against Croatia, on the day of the opening match, which ended with a fantastic 3-0 win to Spain, 18.4 million viewers tuned in for the national team's performance. Germany, this time on ARD, was also the country that followed the match the most, with 7.7 million viewers, followed by Spain with more than 5 million.

Finally, the match that pitted the national team against Albania and saw Spain record a 1-0 win was followed by 9.3 million viewers. La1 brought together more than 6 million viewers in Spain, while in the rest of Europe, the United Kingdom, on BBC 2, stood out with 1.3 million viewers.
