The RFEF Social Network Community reaches over 18 million followers

The support for all our National Teams’ social media profiles, as well as, our various competitions has been overwhelming during 2023.

 

The year 2023 is coming to an end and it is time to analyse the numbers on the numerous social networks and profiles linked to the Royal Spanish Football Federation.

The first words that come to mind after seeing the new data can only be a huge THANK YOU. Thank you for all the support, for following us, for your encouragement and for making us grow beyond our wildest dreams in this year that is coming to an end.

The RFEF Community approaches 8.5 million followers

The Community of the Royal Spanish Football Federation now has more than 18,000,000 million followers, when adding up all the followers on our different platforms.

The Spanish men's national team is the account with the most followers, with a total of 14 million fans who follow all the the senior team and youth teams, not surprising as Nations League champions.

Another of the profiles that has shot up in popularity is that of our Womens’ World Cup winning team.... And no wonder! On several social networks they have doubled their followers in recent months thanks to the insider coverage, reports and access that we have offered to our followers and fans to make them also feel part of this historic success.

The World Champions double the number of followers in the second half of the year  

The Magic of the Cup Rules

The most beautiful tournament in Spanish football has left us with great goals, wonder saves, great moments, and also more followers across our social networks. Without going any further, this year's final has more than two and a half million views, hours of videos to watch and more than 24 million people impressed by what they've seen.

And the trend continues to rise with this season's edition. With the round of Last 16 in the coming weeks and previous rounds that have already given us plenty of surprises and moments to remember. The kind of moments that thrill football fans.

A special mention should also be made for the First Federation, which, thanks to its exhaustive coverage and reporting, has given a significant boost to those fans who enjoy the most authentic level of football.


The rise of mobile followers

According to the latest social media reports, around 90% of users consume our social media content on their mobiles. This means that around 82% of those same users prefer mobile phone friendly content.

And we try to give it to them in the best and innovative way possible (click on the image below).

From the RFEF's Social Media Department, we have embraced mobile phone friendly content by giving a strong boost to REELS on Instagram and TikTok, producing several viral videos on both platforms offering a close content, without filters and in a format that attracts the attention of our young (and not so young) audience.

Welcome, Threads.

We end the year with a "star signing": The Royal Spanish Football Federation has opened official profiles on META's new social network called Threads.

Little by little, we will be uploading content to this promising platform that gives us different possibilities  such as, for example, being able to respond to our followers through audio messages.
