The RFEF thanks Luis Enrique for leading the Spanish national team

The RFEF thanks Luis Enrique and the entire technical staff for their work at the helm of the national team over the last few years.

The RFEF sports management has sent the president a report in which it is determined that a new project for the Spanish national football team should start, with the aim of developing what they have achieved so far thanks to the work carried out by Luis Enrique and his team. Both the president, Luis Rubiales, and the sporting director, José Francisco Molina, have informed the national coach and shared the decision.

The Asturian national coach managed to boost the national team since 2018, through a deeply overhaul that has consolidated a generational change in the national team and in Spanish football.

Luis Enrique managed to qualify for two UEFA Nations League Final Fours, out of the three he played as national coach; and he reached the semi-finals of Euro 2020 with his own and defined style. He has placed his faith in young talent and has given hope for the future of the Spanish national team.

The RFEF wishes Luis Enrique and his team the best of luck in their future projects. The national coach receives the affection and admiration of his team members and the entire Federation, which will always be his home.
