The whole of Spain comes out in support of the Women's National Team

Numerous provincial capitals, big cities and even remote corners of our country enjoyed an emotional final in Sydney

From north to south, from east to west; from the biggest cities to the smallest corners of our rural lands. This Sunday, 20 August 2023, the whole of Spain sang in unison to cheer on the Spanish internationals who were playing in the historic final of the Women's World Cup.The dream of 23 women turned into reality; as did the dreams of many more young girls across the country who, from today, have the perfect role models to look to and inspire their dreams about their futures in women's football.

It was the first time the country has come together to support the women’s football team in such a way, and many organisations and institutions wanted to join in with the celebrations. The massive main party took place at the WiZink Center in Madrid; but every town that organised an event in support of our national team did their bit to help create overwhelming backing for the team.

The Palacio de los Deportes in Logroño; the Fonteta, in Valencia; the Plaza del Castillo, in Pamplona; the Plaza Mayor in Gijón; the Paseo de Recoletos in Valladolid, with a giant screen installed by the city council and Iberdrola; the Monasterio de San Juan, in Burgos; the CEM Olímpics de Vall d'Hebron in Barcelona... the big cities used their emblematic locations to welcome fans eager to enjoy themselves, whether indoors or in the street.
