First visit between Pedro Rocha and the president of the FPF, Fernando Gomes
The meeting, which took place in Monaco, focused on the joint bid for the 2030 World Cup.
The president of the RFEF, Pedro Rocha, and his counterpart in the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), Fernando Gomes, held their first meeting on Thursday. After several telephone contacts over the last few days, today they met in person, holding a working meeting in Monaco focused on the 2030 World Cup.
The joint bid is a priority for both federations and, as Rocha and Gomes reiterated, it is " beyond individuals or specific circumstances".
The bid monitoring committee, made up of representatives from the two countries, continues to prepare the dossier to be presented to FIFA in the first quarter of next year.
