Spain Conquers Eternity
Spain have written another golden chapter in their history by extending their unbeaten run in official competition to 37 consecutive matches, a record that reflects the dominance of a team now firmly established as one of world football's leading forces.
Luis de la Fuente's side have achieved this extraordinary feat exclusively in the game's most demanding competitions: the FIFA World Cup, the UEFA European Championship, and the UEFA Nations League, including both qualifying campaigns and final tournaments. The numbers speak for themselves: 30 victories, seven draws, 96 goals scored and just 26 conceded.
Since June 2023, every official fixture has showcased Spain's competitiveness, consistency and ambition. The unbeaten streak has now stretched beyond three years, with almost 60 players contributing to what has become a record-breaking achievement.
The journey began on 15 June 2023, when Spain defeated Italy 2-1 in the UEFA Nations League semi-finals in Rotterdam. Since then, La Roja have gone on an exceptional unbeaten run, winning the 2023 UEFA Nations League, lifting the UEFA EURO 2024 trophy and reaching, at the very least, the semi-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
With 37 consecutive unbeaten competitive matches, Luis de la Fuente's Spain have surpassed Italy's previous record of 31 official games without defeat, set between 2018 and 2021, establishing the longest unbeaten run in competitive international football. On Tuesday in Dallas, Spain will look to add another chapter to their remarkable story against France, with the aim of reaching only the second FIFA World Cup final in the nation's history and continuing their pursuit of a second world title.
