On 29 November 2021, Alexia Putellas made history by winning the Ballon d'Or. She was the first Spanish player to win this prestigious title. It is a trophy that she won for her footballing excellence and which her national teammates experienced in the same way, since they were together in Seville.

Now, 11 months after that milestone, Alexia Putellas has won her second Ballon d'Or, enhancing the history of Spanish women's football and once again becoming an example of struggle and determination. The captain of the Spanish Women's National Team won the national hat trick with her club: Primera Iberdrola, Copa de SM La Reina and the Women's Super Cup.

Since last July, she has been recovering from a cruciate ligament injury in her left leg which has kept her away from playing fields. This trophy will increase her desire to show again the reason why she is the best player in the world.
