Jorge Vilda spoke in the press room at the Brighton & Hove Community Stadium following the conclusion of the European quarterfinal match between England and Spain.

The national coach regarded the result as a moment with a "bitter taste due to how the defeat has been and due to how we are leaving the tournament." He also acknowledged the dedication, emotion, and effort put out by his team, saying that "we are left with the good performance of all the players and with what comes to us in the future."

After the match, Jorge Vilda spoke with the international players and shared the following with them: "I, along with everyone else, am really proud of what we saw on the pitch. They left absolutely everything on the field, attempted literally everything, and it was not feasible. We need to go on a positive note. Our team is ready for the future. Our national squad has a bright future”.

When confronted with the new goals that would emerge in the future, the coach declared that "Today was challenging; we will need to process it over the next few days and then evaluate what we did well and what we can do better in the future. We also hope that the wind won't be against us and that we won't experience the setbacks we've experienced since the stage started. We must first assimilate it so that we can analyze it and move ahead”.
