Luis Enrique: "We are at our best for the World Cup"

The national coach has announced the list of called-up players for Qatar 2022: "My goal is to play in the seven matches of the tournament".

Luis Enrique has presented the list of call-up players this Friday at Ciudad del Fútbol in an imposing stage with great expectation. These are the players who will represent the Spanish national team at the XXII World Cup, which FIFA organises this autumn in Qatar.

The coach is confident that the national team is at its best for the tournament and he is convinced that "we will battle it out at the World Cup because we have a feeling of fulfilment".

"I think there are players who deserve to be there, I'm the first one to recognise that", said Luis Enrique. He also stated emphatically "this is my national team and that of my staff. I guarantee that we won't be scared stiff," he said.

The Asturian coach announced that the distinctive Spanish style of play will not vary, as "there's no doubt about what you're going to see. We will try to control the match, dominate and outscore our opponents".

With a team that combines experience and youth, the Spanish national team "cannot be discarded as a candidate to be among the best and the bar is set at playing the seven matches of the tournament", the national coach concluded in his answers to the journalists who attended the Luis Aragonés room.
