The national squad's medical team are studying the players’ biomechanics.
The Spanish National Team has the best available resources when it comes to looking after the health of their players. Proof of this is the way the biomechanics of the players are studied. Thanks to Podoactiva technology, the Spanish National Team medical team are able to carry out complete evaluations using all the possible types of state-of-the-art equipment. The main objective: to prevent injuries.
David Chacón, from Podoactiva, explains that first the shape of the foot is scanned through a membrane to obtain the exact mould of the foot with which their engineers can design the players’ insoles. A pressure platform is also used to record the pressure of the foot in a static and dynamic position, indicating the food’s maximum pressure points.
They have a patented inter-foot sensor system in which the players wear a sensor on their hip, femur, tibia and foot that provides data on the mobility of the hips, knees and ankles, such as the impact that each extremity receives.
In addition, a scan of the players' legs is carried out to design customised shin pads made of carbon fibre, which helps to distribute the impact received over the entire surface of the shin pads.
