Qatar University is the World Cup home of the Spanish National Team
Qatar University will finally serve as the Spanish National Team's base camp for the Qatar World Cup, which will be held in the Arab country from November 21 to December 18. In this way, FIFA accepted the request submitted by the Royal Spanish Football Federation, headed by Luis Rubiales, for facilities that satisfy the conditions sought by Luis Enrique and his coaching team.
The headquarters, where Spain will be housed for the duration of the World Cup, is in Doha's Al Dafna area, 28 kilometers (29 minutes) from Doha International Airport. The facilities include two training camps that will only be used by the Spanish National Team. Furthermore, the international players will have all of the necessary facilities (gym, recuperation spaces, technical and conference rooms, etc.) to fulfill the standards of the world's most significant football tournament.
The Al Thumama stadium, where Spain will make their debut versus Costa Rica, is 22 kilometers (22') away. A very easy travel that will be repeated with the remaining fields because the farthest venue, Al Bayt Stadium, is 39 kilometres away (29 miles). Furthermore, the distance between Qatar University and the International Press Center is 11 kilometers (12 miles).
