Scotland, Norway, Georgia and Cyprus will be opponents in the EURO 2024 qualifiers
Spain already know the route they will have to follow during the qualifying round for the UEFA European Championship 2024, that will be held in Germany from 14 June to 14 July that year.
After the draw celebrated at the Festhalle exhibition centre in Frankfurt on Sunday, the Spanish national team will face Scotland, Norway, Georgia and Cyprus in Group A.
The national team was the seeded leader and in the same group as the teams that qualified for the UEFA Nations League final four, thus guaranteeing its place in a group of five. As chance would have it, Spain was drawn against the combative Scotland in pot 2; Norway was in pot 3 and this national team boast Erling Haaland, a great goal scorer; Georgia in pot 4, and the Spanish team played against them in the qualifiers for the World Cup in Qatar; and Cyprus in pot 5.
The qualifying round starts in March and ends in November, and there will be breaks in June, September and October. Spain, however, will play the UEFA Nations League final four in June and will spread its eight matches of the qualifying round for UEFA EURO 2024 over the months mentioned.
Germany is the host country and its place is guaranteed. The first two from each of the ten groups in this round will go straight through to UEFA EURO 2024. The last three qualifiers will come from a playoff, completing the group of 24 national teams that will fight for a trophy that Spain has won three times.
