Spain to discover their first opponents for the fifth edition of the UEFA Nations League in Brussels
The fifth edition of the UEFA Nations League gets underway this Thursday, February 12, with the group-stage draw set to be held in Brussels from 6:00 pm. Spain, whose delegation will be led by RFEF president Rafael Louzán and head coach Luis de la Fuente, will compete in League A, with the pots arranged as follows:
Each group drawn will therefore consist of four national teams, who will face each other over a total of six matchdays. The first four matchdays will be played between September 24 and October 6, while the final two matchdays are scheduled for November 12–17.
The top two teams in each group will qualify for the quarter-finals, which will be contested between March 25 and 30, 2027. Finishing third will mean a play-off, while ending bottom of the group will result in relegation to League B.
Spain have reached three finals out of the four Nations League editions held so far, lifting the trophy in 2023 in Rotterdam after defeating Croatia. In the most recent edition, La Roja narrowly missed out on the title, losing on penalties to Portugal in a final played in Munich.
