World Cup 2030 Comittee visits SC Braga sport complex

Taking place the Portugal-Spain UEFA Nations League match, the delegation consisted of RFEF and FPF representatives.

Beyond the sporting match between Portugal and Spain for a place in the Final Four of the UEFA Nations League, both countries have a great common project: the objective of hosting the 2030 World Cup. For this reason, the meeting in Braga was a good opportunity for the 2030 Bid Committee, consisted of representatives of the Spanish and Portuguese federations, to visit the sport complex in Braga.

Thus, leaders of the FPF and the RFEF held a working meeting at the Braga sports complex, visiting the facilities of Phase 1 (training centre), which has already been completed. They also learnt about the project for Phase 2 (professional football area and residence), which is scheduled to open in 2023.

The Committee is led by Antonio Laranjo and it consists of Daniel Ribeiro and João Morais, from the FPF; on behalf of the RFEF, Andreu Camps, General Secretary, and Jorge Mowinckel, Director of Strategy; and Juan Carnicer, Director of the Office of the President of the CSD.

They were accompanied by the vice-president of SC Braga, Hugo Vieira; by the club's Presidency advisor, Paulo Ferreira on behalf of the president André Viana; and by João Varanda, director of the sports complex and responsible for the project.
