The Spain national team received a tremendous show of support at its first training session of the FIFA World Cup window, as fans packed the stands at Football City on Sunday.

Spain's supporters have always answered the call whenever the national team comes together, but the turnout at Football City was truly exceptional. More than 2,100 fans filled the stands surrounding Pitch A to watch the squad's first session of camp.

As the players emerged onto the field at 11:00 a.m., supporters greeted them with applause and chants, demonstrating their backing for the side led by head coach Luis de la Fuente.

The internationals delighted those in attendance and were especially generous with younger supporters. Following the session, the players and coaching staff took time to meet fans, sharing memorable moments that made the occasion even more special.

Pedro Porro Joins the Squad

Pedro Porro joined the training camp this morning after linking up with the national team.

With photographs, autographs and best wishes exchanged ahead of the upcoming World Cup, the players ensured that 31 May would be a memorable day for everyone present.

Meanwhile, Yeremy Pino, fresh from winning the UEFA Europa Conference League, will join the squad on Monday. Players involved in the UEFA Champions League Final will report later, with Mikel Merino arriving on 2 June, while Fabián Ruiz, David Raya and Martín Zubimendi are scheduled to join on 3 June.

The fans once again demonstrated their passion for Spain on a day when all players currently in camp—21 World Cup squad members and nine training partners—took to the pitch before the start of the session.

The national team is already turning its attention to its first World Cup warm-up fixture, against Iraq, at Estadio de Riazoron 4 June.
