The moment is fast approaching for Spain to step onto the pitch of Atlanta Stadium. On Monday, from 12:00 local time — six hours ahead in mainland Spain — the national team will begin its World Cup campaign against Cape Verde national football team, carrying the hopes of a nation and a shared ambition for success.

The players completed their final preparatory training session ahead of the tournament opener at the facilities of Kennesaw State University. More than 150 journalists were present to observe the opening 15 minutes of the official training session led by Luis de la Fuente.

Before training, accredited media representatives had the opportunity to speak with three of the squad’s senior figures in the mixed zone: Ferran Torres, Mikel Merino and Álex Baena.

Later in the afternoon, at 15:45 local time, De la Fuente will address the media from the match venue itself during the official pre-match press conference, as Spain completes its preparations for the start of its World Cup journey.
