Adidas’ new CLIMACOOL SYSTEM arrives in Spain’s training camp at the FIFA World Cup
High temperatures have become one of the main challenges of the FIFA World Cup, particularly in host venues where climatic conditions can reach extreme levels.
In response, adidas has introduced the CLIMACOOL SYSTEM, consisting of a cooling vest, jacket, and boot covers. This unprecedented design aims to reduce core body temperature and improve players’ heat tolerance.
The vest, worn over the match shirt, contains a specialised gel that is frozen prior to use. Once worn, it gradually thaws, transferring its cooling properties to the upper body—particularly the torso, abdomen, and back—thereby effectively lowering body temperature.
The garments can reduce core body temperature by up to 0.5°C and skin temperature by up to 13°C.
Fourteen national teams will use this system during the World Cup, including the Spain national football team, as they adopt cutting-edge technology to ensure their players compete in optimal conditions.
