The Catalan midfielder reached the milestone of 150 caps for Spain in the early hours of Wednesday morning, during the match against the United States at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania. Alexia also delivered a stellar performance, scoring a goal and providing an assist for Salma Paralluelo to put Spain in front.

After the match, Alexia received a commemorative plaque from the RFEF in recognition of this historic and unprecedented milestone for Spain’s women’s national team. Her teammates lifted her into the air on the pitch in celebration, before the entire squad and coaching staff gathered for a photograph to immortalise an unforgettable day for Spanish football.

Since making her debut in 2013, Alexia has continued to reach new heights, establishing herself as one of the leading figures in world football and a key player for a Spain team that continues to make rapid progress. With 150 appearances and 43 goals, she has played a central role in the team’s development and success, including winning the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2024 and 2025 UEFA Women’s Nations League titles. Her individual honours include two Ballons d’Or, two FIFA The Best awards and back-to-back UEFA Women’s Player of the Year awards.

Far from resting on her achievements, the midfielder continues to embrace new challenges with her competitive ambition undiminished. The next major target is the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, where Spain will seek to defend the title they won in Australia and New Zealand and add a second star to the national team shirt.

Further major challenges await in the coming seasons, including the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games and UEFA Women’s EURO 2029 in Germany. With 150 international appearances to her name, Alexia has built an extraordinary career while retaining her hunger for success. Her story with Spain is far from over, with many more chapters still to be written as she continues to inspire current and future generations.
