Dean Huijsen has been ruled out of Spain’s squad due to injury ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against Georgia in Elche and Bulgaria in Valladolid.
The Real Madrid defender arrived at the national team camp on Monday night showing signs of muscular fatigue. He did not train on Tuesday, and after his condition failed to improve, Real Madrid was informed of the situation. A medical test carried out on Wednesday morning confirmed a muscle injury, which has also been communicated to his club. Consequently, the player has been released from the squad, with the RFEF wishing him a speedy recovery.
In his place, Athletic Club defender Aymeric Laporte will join the national team camp.
