The team began their training camp at Ciudad del Fútbol this Monday, with 24 of the 25 players selected by Sonia Bermúdez already in camp, while Oihane Hernández will join the squad directly in the United States. Four months after their last match, Spain are back together with renewed excitement after securing their place at the next FIFA Women’s World Cup four months ago.

The first major challenge of the new campaign will be a two-match series against the United States, the reigning Olympic champions and four-time world champions. The first meeting will take place on Saturday, 10 October at Audi Field in Washington, D.C., at 8:30pm Spanish mainland time, while the second will be played in the early hours of Wednesday, 14 October, at 1:00am in Spain, at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania — six hours behind Spanish mainland time. Two demanding tests to begin preparing the road to Brazil 2027.

Before heading to the United States, the Spain internationals will have the chance to reconnect with their supporters. This Tuesday, 6 October, from 10:30am, the team will hold their first training session on Field A at Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas. The session will be open to the public, with free entry until capacity is reached, and the gates will open at 10:00am. After training, the team will travel to the United States to prepare for the two matches against the American side.

Spain return four months later with the same hunger as ever and an especially exciting horizon ahead. The smiles and enthusiasm of the players as they reunited with their teammates made it clear that the new campaign is already underway. The dream of reaching the pinnacle once again in 2027 begins in Las Rozas and, for now, its first stop is the United States.
