Final training session ahead of departure
Shortly before 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2026, the Spanish national team took to Pitch D at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas for their official training session ahead of Friday’s match, March 27, scheduled for 9:00 p.m.
Luis de la Fuente’s squad trained in a session that was open to the media for the first fifteen minutes, after which they focused on final preparations for the Spain vs. Serbia fixture.
The national team will play their first match of 2026 at the Estadio de la Cerámica, home of Villarreal CF. This fixture marks the first test in a year that will culminate in the FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
All 27 players took part in this final training session before traveling to Castellón later this afternoon and were joined by a special guest at the end of the session. Jero Freixas, the Argentine content creator known for his football-related comedy videos on Instagram, visited the team following training. Together with him, the national team coach announced the squad list for these two friendly matches. Freixas also had the opportunity to speak with the delegation and was presented with a commemorative jersey bearing the number 10.
The day’s schedule will continue this afternoon at the Estadio de la Cerámica, where the head coach and Álex Baena will address the media from 7:30 p.m. in the official pre-match press conference ahead of Spain vs. Serbia.
