The 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico is now a reality. On the afternoon of Saturday, 6 December, FIFA formally confirmed the venues and schedules for the matches of the upcoming global tournament. As a result, the Spanish national team now knows the stadiums and kick-off times for all of its group-stage fixtures.

Spain will make its debut against Cape Verde—who will be appearing in a World Cup for the first time—on Monday, 15 June 2026 at 18:00 at Atlanta Stadium (United States). It will be an unprecedented encounter in world football, taking place for the first time on U.S. soil, where Luis de la Fuente’s team will look to secure its first three points in Group H of the World Cup.

Spain’s second opponent will be Saudi Arabia, on Sunday, 21 June at 18:00, also at Atlanta Stadium. Spain and Saudi Arabia have met three times previously: once at the 2006 World Cup and twice in friendly matches. Spain has won all three meetings.

To close the group stage, the national team will travel to Mexico to face Marcelo Bielsa’s Uruguay. The match will take place on Friday, 27 June next year at 02:00 at the Guadalajara Stadium. This will be the eleventh meeting between Spain and Uruguay, and the record to date favours Spain: five wins, five draws and no defeats against the South American side. It will also be the third World Cup meeting between the two nations.
