Jeddah to Host the Spanish Super Cup for the Third Time in Its History
FC Barcelona will face Athletic Club, while Atlético de Madrid will meet Real Madrid in the semifinals of the first major tournament of 2026.
The Saudi city of Jeddah, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, will once again host the Spanish Super Cup in 2026.
For the second consecutive year—and the third time in the tournament’s history—the King Abdullah Sports City, home to the Alinma Stadium (popularly known as Al Jawhara, “The Shining Jewel”), will stage all three matches of the competition between Wednesday, January 7, and Sunday, January 11 of next year.
All matches of this edition will be broadcast live on Movistar+.
On one side of the draw, FC Barcelona will face Athletic Club, and on the other, Atlético de Madrid will meet Real Madrid. The winners will contest the first major trophy of the global football calendar in the grand final.
The order of the semifinals will be determined by a draw, and all three matches will kick off at 8:00 p.m. CET (10:00 p.m. local time).
Last January, more than 60,000 spectators filled the stands of Jeddah’s stadium for the conclusion of a Super Cup followed by hundreds of millions of fans worldwide—highlighting the global reach of a competition that promises to deliver another thrilling edition in 2026.
