Lamine Yamal Withdraws from Spain Squad for Matches Against Georgia and Bulgaria

Lamine Yamal has been ruled out of Luis de la Fuente’s squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against Georgia in Elche and Bulgaria in Valladolid.
Following a request for medical information from the RFEF’s medical staff yesterday, FC Barcelona’s medical team submitted a report this afternoon—after the official squad announcement—confirming discomfort in the pubic area of the forward.
In order to ensure a safe and speedy recovery, and in line with the Federation’s medical protocols applied to all players representing Spain, Yamal has been released from the call-up.
The national team camp will begin on Monday, October 6, at 20:00 at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas.
