How are you feeling ahead of the match against Uruguay?

"At the end of the match against Cape Verde, I suffered a knock that left me doubtful for the Saudi Arabia game. However, I was able to train with the squad, complete all the sessions, and I feel fully fit and ready to play."

On the team’s progress

"Hopefully we can maintain the level we showed in the last match. You all know what we are capable of, and what we produced against Saudi Arabia truly represents us because it showed the real Spain."

On Nico Williams

"It has been a difficult season for him, but he is training extremely hard and you can see that he is improving all the time. It is never easy to return from an injury like the one he suffered, but he is regaining confidence and rhythm. He will be very important for us in the coming matches."

On the start of the World Cup

"There have been a lot of goals, and the natural goalscorers are making a real impact. We need to remain focused on ourselves, and then we will see what happens."

On the criticism following the Cape Verde match

"We understood the criticism, and we are the first to want to win every match. The positive aspect was our ability to respond and produce our best performance afterwards."

On Uruguay

"We still have a few days to analyse them in greater depth, but the most important thing is to continue playing our football. They have everything to play for, and we know they will give everything, but we must focus on our own game and win in order to finish top of the group."

On possible knockout-stage opponents

"Our objective is to finish first, as it always is, and that is what we will try to achieve without thinking about potential opponents or teams we might prefer to avoid. We always play to win."

On the team’s stay in Chattanooga

"We have been very comfortable and very relaxed here. I have had the chance to discover a couple of excellent restaurants, but overall we have really enjoyed our time here."

As Spain prepares for its decisive Group H encounter, Laporte stressed the importance of maintaining the high standards shown in the victory over Saudi Arabia, a performance he believes reflected the national team's true identity and potential at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
