Luis Enrique: “They’re doing great”

The national coach highlights the commitment of his players after winning against Jordan and he remains optimistic for the World Cup.

The Spanish national team leaves Jordan with a smile on its face. Beyond the enormous warmth they have received from the people of Amman, the national team did a great job in the last match before the World Cup. Luis Enrique chose 19 players to play and he talked about the internationals' game in the pressroom. He is satisfied with the commitment and the level shown six days before the opening match in Qatar against Costa Rica.

"It's been a real pleasure to come to Jordan and feel the kindness of everyone," said the coach. "We took it as seriously as the game deserved. There were some good things and some others to improve, but we were good in general. The result was the least important thing, but it's always much more positive to win this kind of matches".

The match was an opportunity for him to test and to give out minutes. He even revealed that he drew up the team and made the subsequent changes based on what his players suggested. Everything is done before the World Cup and Luis Enrique remains very optimistic. "Our objective is to play all the seven matches. I see the team doing great and with the enthusiasm. We played a good game, it went well, and now it's time to prepare for Costa Rica.

The Asturian national coach pointed out to the teamwork, which is the great secret of this group. "The three young players scored and maybe the three veterans will score against Costa Rica, this is a team. Now the World Cup begins, and we want to be in the residence and experience the first match coolly".
