Spain Head Coach Luis de la Fuente Visits Wildfire Evacuees at Las Rozas Reception Centre
He spent Sunday morning with nearly 300 displaced residents and emergency personnel. Since yesterday, the RFEF has been housing the most vulnerable evacuated families at its official residence, while Las Rozas City Council continues to provide comprehensive support to those affected.
Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente visited the La Marazuela reception centre in Las Rozas on 26 July, where he met with residents displaced by the wave of wildfires affecting the region. During his visit, he offered his support and what he described as a much-needed "boost of energy" to the nearly 300 people who are now entering their third day away from their homes.
De la Fuente spent the morning speaking with evacuees, volunteers and emergency personnel, a gesture that was warmly appreciated by both the response teams and the families facing an extremely uncertain situation.
Since the previous day, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has opened the doors of its official residence at the Ciudad del Fútbol to accommodate the most vulnerable evacuated families.
A total of 290 residents spent the night at the La Marazuela facilities. They had been evacuated from the municipalities of Hoyo de Pinares, Navalagamella, Zarzalejos, Pelayos de la Presa, Fresnedillas de la Oliva, Robledo de Chavela, Peralejo, Colmenar del Arroyo, and the El Escorial Campsite.
