Luis de la Fuente to Announce Spain Squad on August 29
Luis de la Fuente will announce on Friday, August 29, the list of players called up for Spain’s first two fixtures in their qualifying campaign for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Both matches will be played away from home: the first on Thursday, September 4, against Bulgaria in Sofia, and the second on Sunday, September 7, against Turkey in Konya. Both games are scheduled to kick off at 20:45 (local time).
The national team coach will meet with the media at 12:30 in the José Villalonga Room at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas. Prior to that, at 11:30, the squad list for the double international fixture will be released through the official channels of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
Also on Friday, August 29, at 12:00, David Gordo will present his first squad as Under-21 head coach. Spain will begin their qualification campaign for the 2027 European Under-21 Championship during this September window, with two official matches: against Cyprus on September 5 at 20:00 in Soria, and against Kosovo on September 9 at 19:00 in Pristina. Gordo will address the media at the Ciudad del Fútbol following De la Fuente’s press conference.
The senior national team’s training camp will commence on Monday, September 1, at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas, with the selected players expected to report by 13:00.
