Luis de la Fuente to announce squad for matches against Georgia and Bulgaria on Friday, 3 October

Head coach Luis de la Fuente will announce, on Friday 3 October, the list of players called up for Spain’s third and fourth fixtures in the qualifying campaign for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The announcement will first be made at 11:30 a.m. through the official channels of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). Later, at 12:30 p.m., De la Fuente will hold a press conference with the media in the José Villalonga Room at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas.

Spain will play both matches on home soil:

  • Saturday, 11 October vs. Georgia in Elche (20:45 CEST).

  • Tuesday, 14 October vs. Bulgaria in Valladolid (20:45 CEST).

The national team will begin its training camp on Monday, 6 October at the Ciudad del Fútbol, with the players expected to report by 20:00 CEST.

On the same Friday, at 12:00 p.m., David Gordo will announce the squad list for the Spain Under-21 national team, which will also face two fixtures in October. On Friday, 10 October, Spain U-21 will host Norway in a friendly match at the Pedro Escartín Stadium in Guadalajara (21:00 CEST). Then, on Tuesday, 14 October, the team will face Finland in Castellón de la Plana at the Estadio Castalia (18:30 CEST) in their third qualifier for the 2027 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. Spain won their opening two matches in this campaign against Cyprus and Kosovo. Gordo will meet with the press at the Ciudad del Fútbol immediately after De la Fuente’s appearance.
