Marc Pubill continues to take steps forward with the national team and can now celebrate his first goal for Spain, scored against Croatia at the Sánchez-Pizjuán on the second matchday of the UEFA Nations League. It was a particularly meaningful moment for the defender, who is enjoying every experience in the national team shirt. “It’s all been a dream. It already was at the World Cup. Things are going really well,” he admits.

The Spanish international particularly highlighted what being part of the team means to him. “Representing your country is a source of pride, so it’s something really special,” Pubill says.

His first goal also had a very special dedication. Pubill immediately wanted to remember the people who have supported him throughout his career. “It’s for those who have always been there, for my family, my girlfriend and my brothers. I dedicate it to them for having supported me all the way here,” he explains.

The defender also has memories of some of the biggest moments of his career away from the pitch. A tattoo enthusiast, he has chosen to immortalise some of those achievements on his skin: “I like tattoos. I think the World Cup is something really special that had to be there, just as I have the one for the Olympics.” Two reminders of a journey with the national team to which he can now add another special moment: his first goal for Spain.
