Coaches and captains from both sides posed with the trophy at La Cartuja Stadium, the venue where the new Copa del Rey champion will be crowned.

Seville is once again the center of Spanish football attention, hosting the 2025/26 Copa del Rey final on April 18. A clash between Atlético de Madrid and Real Sociedad, two clubs with strong cup pedigree, both of whom have already tasted success in this competition.

Atlético’s last Copa win came in 2013, while Real Sociedad lifted the trophy in 2021—also at this very stadium.

On the eve of the 124th edition of the knockout tournament final, and after speaking to the media, Diego Simeone—now in his 14th season at the club—and Pellegrino Matarazzo—in charge of the Basque side since December—posed alongside their captains, Koke Resurrección and Mikel Oyarzabal, next to the trophy at the iconic Andalusian stadium, which will be packed with 70,000 fans this Saturday.

Ninety minutes—or maybe more—separate one of the two teams from lifting the trophy and reaching the top once again. Seville is ready. Football will have the final say.
