Pau Cubarsí Paredes (Espanyol, 22 January 2007) is experiencing his seventh call-up to the senior national team. At only 18, the Girona-born player has already worn the Spain shirt six times since his debut in March 2024 against Colombia at London’s Olympic Stadium.

The FC Barcelona player has gone through a process of growth and consolidation over the last 18 months, both at his club and with the Spanish national team. Cubarsí acknowledges that many things have changed in his life since his first appearance for Spain. Since 22 March 2024, the Catalan defender has reached adulthood, passed his driving test—on the first attempt—moved house, and been crowned Olympic champion at Paris 2024. As he himself says, a year and a half can bring a lot.

His next major goal at international level is the World Cup next summer, an exciting challenge for which Cubarsí knows it is crucial to start on the right foot against Bulgaria.
