RFEF Holds a Meeting in Elche with Representatives of Valencian Football
President Rafael Louzán met in Elche with representatives of non-professional football clubs from the Valencian Community, just hours before the match between Spain and Georgia at the Martínez Valero Stadium.
After landing this Saturday at the Alicante–Elche Miguel Hernández Airport aboard the plane that brought the Spanish national team to the region, Rafael Louzán attended a meeting in the city of Elche with representatives of clubs from across the autonomous community.
The meeting, organized by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) on the occasion of the World Cup qualifying match between Spain and Georgia, was also attended by the Ambassador of Georgia, Alexander Chkuaseli; the Mayor of Elche, Pablo Ruz Villanueva; the Deputy Government Delegate in Alicante, Juan Antonio Nieves Martínez; and the Director General for Sports of the Generalitat Valenciana, Luis Cervera Torres.
Members of the RFEF Board of Directors were present, including the President of the Spanish Footballers’ Association (AFE), David Aganzo; several presidents of regional federations, such as the President of the Valencian Football Federation (FFCV), Salvador Gomar; and representatives from non-professional clubs in the Valencian Community such as Hércules CF, CD Alcoyano, CF Intercity, Orihuela CF, and Crevillente Deportivo, among others. The meeting took place at La Magrana, an emblematic venue in Elche.
President Rafael Louzán expressed his gratitude to all attendees and showed his concern for the potential damage caused by the recent storm in the province of Alicante to the facilities of local clubs. He also conveyed his hope that the fans attending Saturday’s match at the Martínez Valero Stadium will enjoy an outstanding football spectacle, as the Spanish national team continues its path toward qualification for the FIFA World Cup, to be held next year in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
