The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), through Spain’s women’s national team, is once again joining the commemoration of World Breast Cancer Day, held every year on 19 October. To mark the occasion, the Federation has released a video highlighting the importance of raising awareness of the disease and increasing its visibility.

Filmed during the team’s most recent training camp in the United States, the video opens with Irene Paredes, Spain’s captain, forming the symbol associated with the fight against breast cancer with her hands. One by one, her international teammates join her until the entire squad comes together in a collective show of support.

Members of the coaching staff also take part, including head coach Sonia Bermúdez and assistant coach Iraia Iturregi, standing alongside the players in an initiative that reaffirms the RFEF’s commitment to the fight against breast cancer. Under the slogan “Champions, We Stand with You”, the players express their solidarity with everyone affected by the disease.

Through initiatives such as this and its close collaboration with the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), the RFEF aims to help raise awareness of breast cancer and support research.

Information, guidance and support are available through the Spanish Association Against Cancer.
