RFEF President Sends Christmas Wishes to the Spanish Football Family: “We Can All Dream of a Second Star”
Rafael Louzán reflects on a landmark 2025 at the helm of Spanish football: “We have achieved the institutional stability this sport needed.”
With the echoes of Spain’s recent successes still fresh — including the national team’s triumph in the UEFA Women’s Nations League and the bronze medal at the first Women’s Futsal World Cup — the President of the Royal Spanish Football Federation has used the Christmas holidays to send his best wishes to the entire Spanish football community.
Speaking from Las Rozas, Rafael Louzán looked back on a year now drawing to a close, noting that “2025 has been a year of great sporting emotions that brought us important victories, while also allowing us to achieve the institutional stability that Spanish football needed. Today, football is united, and that unity allows us to move forward without limits in a sport that shapes our lives.”
Looking ahead to the months to come, Louzán highlighted the upcoming World Cup as the biggest challenge on the horizon. “A second star for the national team is a dream we can all share as we head into the new year — one I am confident will bring plenty of good news.”
His message concluded with words of gratitude to all those involved in the game, alongside warm wishes for the future, with football fans at the heart of his address: “Please accept the heartfelt embrace of everyone working at the Federation for a better game,” he said.
