Thousands of football fans have been enjoying the impressive Spanish Super Cup Fan Zone since last Wednesday. Located in an iconic spot on Jeddah’s Corniche, on the shores of the Red Sea and next to the city’s popular Formula 1 street circuit, the space has become a major attraction during the tournament.

In this city, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the presidents of the RFEF and LALIGA visited the Fan Zone on Friday. Spanning more than 1,000 square meters, the venue showcases the history of the Spanish Super Cup, an exhibition of trophies won by the Spanish national team, interactive games, and a display of kits from some of Spain’s leading clubs, among many other highlights.

Addressing local fans and Spanish media covering the first major tournament of the year, Rafael Louzán expressed his gratitude “to the four teams taking part in this edition of a Supercopa that has grown in stature. Our thanks also go to the Government of Saudi Arabia, to its Minister of Sport Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal for supporting this initiative, to the company Sela, to the people of this wonderful country, and to Javier Tebas for his backing. Working together, we are stronger.”

The RFEF president also explained that “for the second consecutive year, more than 80 grassroots clubs from Spain are with us here, having traveled to see first-hand how Spanish football is appreciated in this region. The Supercopa agreement allows our sport — especially at non-professional levels — to benefit through promotion and increased resources. The great brand that Spanish football represents continues to grow through this tournament. Unity is strength, as shown by the tournament’s extraordinary media impact and the massive fan attendance at the matches.”

This sentiment was echoed by the president of LALIGA, who emphasized that “by staging this Supercopa, we are making Spanish football even bigger.” Both Javier Tebas and Rafael Louzán joined in inviting football fans to “enjoy the celebration that will be this Sunday’s grand final.”
