The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and the NGO Babies Uganda have been recognized with one of the UEFA Foundation for Children Awards 2025, which honor the best charitable initiatives in European football. Their joint project, entitled Football That Unites, was recognized as the best international humanitarian collaboration and will receive €38,500 to support its on-the-ground implementation. The award was officially presented during a meeting at the RFEF headquarters between President Rafael Louzán and Montse Martínez, co-founder and president of Babies Uganda.

During the ceremony, the RFEF president presented the president of Babies Uganda with an official certificate acknowledging the distinction granted by UEFA to the joint initiative of both institutions.

The project aims to implement a sports and educational program in two schools in Uganda managed by Babies Uganda, contributing to access to sport, social inclusion, and improved quality of life for children living in situations of extreme vulnerability.

The proposal, submitted by the RFEF under the EQUIPAZO program, aligns with objectives of sustainability, international cooperation, and children’s rights as outlined in the federation’s ESG strategy, as well as with the impact standards established by the UEFA Foundation.

With this recognition, the RFEF reaffirms its commitment to social development through football, supporting international initiatives that promote equity, inclusion, and human dignity beyond national borders.
