UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin said he was “happy” with the agreement, stressing that it has only “one winner: football.”
FIFA president Gianni Infantino announced the creation of a new Under-15 World Cup.
RFEF president Rafael Louzán today expressed his satisfaction following the agreement between UEFA, Real Madrid and European Football Clubs, announced yesterday during the UEFA Executive Committee meeting, of which he is a member.
“This is the way forward—the same path we began at the RFEF a year ago. It is very good for European football,” he said, also thanking the club for its willingness to help reach the agreement.
He noted that this Congress—“where a great deal of Spanish was spoken”—highlighted Spain’s role in international competitions, recalling the top rankings of Spain’s national football and futsal teams worldwide. The Spain football brand, he said, is the result of collective work, stability and trust.
Louzán made these remarks after the conclusion of the 50th UEFA Congress held in Brussels, echoing UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin, who said he was “happy” with the outcome and emphasized that the “only winner in this situation is football, no one else.”
After addressing the agreement and predicting “a bright future for European football,” the Congress moved on to its agenda, focusing on financial matters, statutes, competitions and other institutional topics.
Earlier, FIFA president Gianni Infantino, who attended both the Congress and the official dinner the night before, revealed that FIFA is working on the creation of a new Under-15 World Cup, with further details to be announced soon.
