The RFEF unveils the official poster for the upcoming match between Spain and Sweden, featuring the national team players alongside some of Málaga’s most iconic landmarks.

What comes to mind when you think of art? For many of us, the city of Málaga is one of the first images that appears — and it’s hard to argue that what our women’s national team displays on the pitch is anything less than pure art.

With that idea as inspiration, the Royal Spanish Football Federation presents the official poster for the first leg of the UEFA Women’s Nations League semifinal, where Spain will face Sweden on October 24 in the Andalusian capital — under the slogan “Football as Art.”

The Cathedral of Málaga, its iconic lighthouse La Farola, El Cenachero, and the silhouettes of Gibralfaro Castle and La Alcazaba all feature alongside the Spanish internationals in a poster that celebrates both the beauty of the city and the artistry of the team. The match will also mark Sonia Bermúdez’s debut on the national team bench. Spain returns to La Rosaleda Stadium for the first time since 2023 — now as the number one team in the FIFA rankings.

“Football as Art” perfectly unites the cultural spirit of Málaga — birthplace of Pablo Ruiz Picasso — with the footballing artistry of Spain’s women’s national team, whose distinctive style is recognized worldwide. With five Ballon d’Or winners among its ranks, this team continues to elevate the game to the level of fine art — and the next masterpiece will be unveiled at La Rosaleda.
