The 2027 Spanish Super Cup to Be Held in Istanbul
The Royal Spanish Football Federation will take Spain's showpiece domestic competition to Turkey in 2027, with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Real Sociedad and Atlético Madrid competing from 2 to 7 February.
The Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul will host the 2027 Spanish Super Cup, following an agreement reached by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). The four clubs competing for the title will be FC Barcelona, Real Madrid CF, Real Sociedad and Club Atlético de Madrid.
Istanbul was selected following a period of negotiations and planning during which the RFEF considered seven bids from locations across the world. The Federation worked alongside SELA, the company that has partnered with the RFEF in the development of the Spanish Super Cup since the tournament began being staged in Saudi Arabia.
The 2027 Spanish Super Cup will take place in Istanbul from 2 to 7 February 2027. The Turkish city will host an increasingly established fixture on the international football calendar, with the tournament broadcast in more than 150 countries worldwide. In the 2026 edition, Barcelona were crowned champions.
By agreeing to stage the competition in Turkey, the RFEF has ensured the continuation of the financial benefits generated by the tournament for Spanish football. These revenues are channelled directly towards almost 1,000 clubs across men's and women's football at all levels of the Spanish game.
The competition brings together four of Spain's leading clubs, including the La Liga champions and Copa del Rey winners. The Spanish Super Cup will return to Saudi Arabia in 2028, as the country is scheduled to host the AFC Asian Cup during dates that coincide with the 2027 tournament. The RFEF therefore worked to secure an alternative venue for the upcoming edition.
