If Salamanca welcomed the national team in September 2010 for its first official match in Spain after winning the first star, sixteen years later Seville, the Andalusian capital, takes over to welcome the protagonists of the second.

After training in the morning at the Football City and taking a short flight, Luis de la Fuente's squad landed at San Pablo Airport at around 19:00 before heading to their team hotel, the Eurostars Torre Sevilla, located on La Cartuja island, next to the border with the traditional Triana neighbourhood.

Luis de la Fuente and Fabián Ruiz were the protagonists at the pre-match press conference.

There, at what has become the national team's base during its stays in the city, more than a hundred fans gave the players a warm welcome, with applause, banners and countless chants of support, making the champions feel that they were back playing at home just two months after conquering the world. The entire squad responded to the affection with autographs and countless photographs.

With the two stars now proudly embroidered on their shirts, the national team faces its second UEFA Nations League fixture this Tuesday against Croatia at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán. Spain will do so as Group A3 leaders, following their outstanding victory at Wembley last Saturday.

This will be the 26th match Spain have played at the home of Sevilla FC. The last came in March 2015, when Spain defeated Ukraine 1-0 in a European Championship qualifier.
