Exactly 24 hours before the Spain–Sweden match at La Rosaleda, corresponding to the semifinals of the UEFA Women’s Nations League, the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) closed on Thursday the sports conferences held under the motto “Football as an Art,” which served as a tribute to Andalusian Women.

Before an audience gathered at the museum located in Málaga’s historic Tabacalera building, Rafael Louzán began by expressing his gratitude “for the effort each and every one of you has made to be here. Any reason is a good reason to visit this wonderful city of Málaga, especially on the eve of Friday’s great match at La Rosaleda.”

“These conferences,” the RFEF president continued, “represent an excellent opportunity for us to come together and share ideas, observing the evolution of women’s football in Spain and around the world. There is one figure that illustrates the growth of this sport: more than 20,000 people will fill the stands at La Rosaleda this Friday — a clear sign of enthusiasm, dedication, and the outstanding work of many individuals.”

More than 20,000 fans are expected to attend the Spain–Sweden match live at La Rosaleda this Friday.

In this context, Rafael Louzán called for greater involvement from all stakeholders in football along this upward path, stressing that “words and gestures are not enough; only through clear and decisive actions can we achieve the full consolidation of women’s football. There is a strong and unstoppable commitment to this cause,” concluded the RFEF president, to the applause of those present.

Complemented by a training course on women’s football, the conferences held in Málaga brought together on Thursday leading figures from regional federations, public administration, sports management, refereeing, and the business sector — all on the eve of a match in which Spain will seek to secure its place in the UEFA Nations League final, a tournament in which the national team is the reigning champion.
